For many years, anglers and other dedicated volunteers have worked to help and strengthen the fish populations in the Skjern River. It is a long and demanding effort, facing many challenges along the way.
But when the work pays off – like here at Kjeldstrup Stream, where a spawning bed was created on Salmon Day with the help of volunteers – it brings hope and motivation. The clip shows two fine sea trout.
In the Skjern River system, sea trout have a longer spawning period, ranging from November to February, whereas salmon are more specific and typically spawn around mid-December.
